The Masters: The golfing world gets set for tournament final

Patrick Reed held off the challenge of Ryder Cup team-mates Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth to claim his first major title in the Masters, as Rory McIlroy suffered more Masters misery.

Reed carded a final round of 71 at Augusta National to finish 15 under par and a shot ahead of Fowler, with 2015 champion Spieth another stroke back after an astonishing challenge faltered at the last.

Spieth had rallied from nine shots behind at the start of the day to claim a share of the lead with his ninth birdie of the day on the 16th, setting up the chance to equal the course record of 63 or even match the major championship mark of 62.

But a terrible drive on the 18th for the second time this week led to a crucial bogey and more Augusta demons, after he squandered a five-shot lead with nine to play in 2016 in defence of his title.

Welcome to our coverage of the fourth and final day of The Masters, and what a day it's poised to be! Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy are set to renew their Ryder Cup rivalry later today as they head out in the final pairing at around 19:40 BST, with Reed three shots ahead of the Northern Irishman and McIlroy in turn two shots clear of the rest of the field.

But the chasing pack reads like the who's who of golf, with messrs Stenson, Watson, Spieth and Thomas all featuring inside the top 10.

Anything could happen on the tricky Augusta National course, and one thing's for sure, it's not a day to be missed!

We're just minutes away from the start of play at Augusta, with the unlucky odd one out being Vijay Singh as the 53rd man. With the rest of the field in pairs, Singh - the early leader back on day one - will tee-off at 3pm alongside Jeff Knox, the Augusta National member who played yesterday alongside Paul Casey.

Chez Reavie and Phil MickelsonA much better start for Phil Mickelson, as after beginning his third round with a double-bogey seven at the first, this time he's on the putting surface in two. That said, the American was far from happy last night, and here's what he had to say after that nightmare round of 74 after his second-round 79: 

I don't have it. It's still Augusta so I'm trying to make do. But it's just frustrating to be out there playing when you know you don't have a chance.

I'm just hitting some pretty bad shots. I'm hitting some good ones, but hitting a lot of really bad ones.
