The tallest church tower in the Netherlands paid tribute to Avicii yesterday, the Swedish musician’s songs ringing out of the Dom Tower, Utrecht.
Avicii – real name Tim Bergling – was found dead on Friday (20 April) in Oman at the age of 28. The cause of death has not been revealed.
Malgosia Fiebig, the city’s carillonneur, Tweeted following the announcement of Bergling’s passing, saying that they would play three of his songs on the carillon the next day.
Footage of the three songs – “Wake Me Up,” “Without You” and “Hey Brother” – playing out of the tower have since made their way online. Watch above.

Bergling’s publicist Diana Baron confirmed the hit-maker’s death in a statement: “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii.
“He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
The official cause of death has not yet been revealed.
